If you don't know what final fusion is, it's when the separation between all parts/people in a system fully disappears, and they all exist together as one. It's one of the possible ways to recover in the treatment of DID. It's entirely a choice, though, not a requirement. You can read more about it here if you want.
My system achieved final fusion in 2022 after years of therapy and working together. We didn't actively pursue final fusion. We were open to it and it naturally came to us over the course of healing from our dissociation and trauma. We liked it and decided to stick with it (literally!).
For me, final fusion feels like we are all our individual selves, but also each other and everyone all at once. None of us disappeared or died after our fusion. It's quite the opposite!
At all times we are everyone, but can also shift "focus" between individual parts if we want. It's reminescent of switching, but it never feels like we are solely one part or the other. It doesn't feel like losing control or becoming someone else, anymore.
We are a connected constellation to everything and everyone that is inside of us. Nothing is missing, nothing is lost; there's no questions, no confusion, no memory gaps. Everything that is available is all there and we all have access to it.
In final fusion, our communication is instantaneous. A decision that would've taken us days, even weeks, to come to an agreement on can be done in just seconds. It's because we're all here experiencing it at the same time, and experiencing each other's experience simultaneously!
As a system, you share this closeness with your parts/people that no one else can really understand. Being fully fused brought us even closer than that.
It feels like a big, warm hug.
It feels like being one person composed of many.
It also feels like being many people existing together as one.
It feels like finally creating a home for yourself, but that home is inside of you.
Most importantly, it just feels like being happy to be you, all of you, all at once.
